The Tier 2 Championships are where the best of the best come to compete for the coveted title of Tier 2 Champion in their division. For many athletes, this event is more than a competition—it’s a celebration of their growth, determination, and hard work throughout the season.

As one of the first large-scale ninja events for Tier 2 athletes, the Championships are an electrifying experience that showcases the thrill and camaraderie of the ninja community. It’s a pivotal moment in their journey, offering the perfect stage to build confidence, embrace the excitement of competition, and prepare for the challenges of Tier 1 seasons ahead.

For some, it’s the culmination of their Tier 2 adventure; for others, it’s a launchpad for even greater achievements. No matter the outcome, this event inspires athletes to push their limits and leave it all on the course!

SCORING

The Tier 2 Championships feature four events:

  • Flow Course
  • Full Course
  • Two Skills Events

Athletes are ranked on each course, with their placements determining eligibility for various awards.

Tie-Breaker Rules for Strongest Ninja and Course/Skills Overall:

  1. Best Individual Placement
    • The athlete with the highest individual ranking in any event wins the tie.
  2. Next Best Placement
    • If still tied, compare the next best placements until the tie is broken.
  3. True Tie
    • If all placements are tied, the result will be a true tie, unless a designated tie-breaker event is specified:
      • The event must be pre-identified on the competition’s multi-event form.
      • The athlete with the better placement in this tie-breaker event wins.

STRONGEST NINJA

Scored by: Combining placements from all four courses.
Example: Athlete places 1st in Flow, 3rd in Full, 2nd in Skill 1, and 4th in Skill 2 → Place Total = 10. Athlete with the lowest combined total wins.

COURSE OVERALL

Scored by: Combining placements from the Flow Course and Full Course.
Example: Athlete places 3rd in Flow and 5th in Full → Place Total = 8. Athlete with the lowest combined total wins.

SKILLS OVERALL

Scored by: Combining placements from the two Skills Courses. Example: Athlete places 2nd in Skill 1 and 4th in Skill 2 → Place Total = 6. Athlete with the lowest combined total wins.

INDIVIDUAL EVENT

Scored by: Standalone ranking on each respective course. The athlete with the lowest placement on a single event wins that event’s award.

ELIGIBILITY

Athletes in all divisions must finish in the top 16 or 35% of the unique athletes that competed in the region in the athlete’s respective age division & gender. 

  • The total qualifying spots for each region’s age division & gender will be whichever number is greater (16 or 35%) without exceeding the total max qualifiers for division & gender per region of 40 in order to qualify.
  • If an athlete who finishes in a qualifying spot is already qualified via regular season points, the qualifying spot will bump down to the next athlete in line.
    • Regional Championship qualifying spots are intended for athletes competing whose home region is the same region as the regional championship. In the event, athletes from a different home region take qualifying spots, additional qualifying spots will be awarded to the next highest-ranked athletes from the home region of the regional championship.
      • This rule applies when the athlete’s home region is different than the region of the regional championship they have competed at:
        • For Example, The Northeast Regional Championship is set to award 40 qualifying spots in the Kids Male division. At the championship two athletes from the Midwest region placed in the top 40. Two additional qualifying spots will be awarded to the next eligible Northeast athletes from the Northeast Regional Championship
          • In this scenario, 42 athletes will receive a qualification to the World Championship. Two from the Midwest Region and 40 from the Northeast Region.
