Recap: Head To Head Championships

The first Ninja racing Championships delivered exactly what fans wanted to see!

The World Ninja League kicked off its championship season at Ninja Mania in Danbury, Connecticut for the Head to Head Championships. Over 100 competitors from all divisions came into the event ready to do one thing: race. What came as a result of these talented athletes was nothing short of perfection. Read on to find out who was crowned Head to Head Champion!

The Comeback Queens

As the Head to Head Championships followed a double-elimination bracket, the Comeback Bracket featured many athletes eager to fight for the title. This was the case in the Preteen Female division, where Ananyssa Truong fought her way through the Comeback Bracket and into the Finals against Grace Murphy. In the Finals, Truong forced a tiebreaker match, and while Murphy came out on top, Truong kept it close for a solid 2nd place finish.

The competition saw a similar scenario in the Kids Female division. Throughout the day, Kylie Falkowski had been on a dominant run, locking her place in the Finals. Meanwhile, Emilia Diaz Landt was sent to the Comeback Bracket by Falkowski. Once there, Diaz Landt pushed her way into the Finals and also forced a tiebreaker, winning her rematch against Falkowski. With all scores settled, Emilia Diaz Landt pulled out the win, cementing herself as Champion.

Consistency Was Key

With the exception of Diaz Landt, every other division’s Champions followed the footsteps of Grace Murphy. They stayed in the Winner’s Bracket all tournament and never lost a race! On the 8-obstacle version of the course, Champions who swept the field included Joey Stone (Kids Male), Jeremy Casella (Mature Kids Male), and Emily Wilkes (Mature Kids Female). In the Adult Female division, Callie Redman beat her sister Brooke for the title of Champion as well. None of these athletes lost a single matchup or went to a tiebreaker race in the Finals!

On the 10-obstacle version of the course, our Champions got a taste of victory early and ran with it. Dominant wins came from Will Vaz (Preteen Male), Alex Ascone (Teen Male), Ryley Hunt (Teen Female), JJ Black (Young Adult Male), and Joe Moravsky (Elite Male). This marks Moravsky’s second World Champion title and his first title win since 2020! Meanwhile, Ascone adds another title to his growing list of accolades.

Congratulations to all of our Champions and thank you to everyone who came out to compete in the first ever Head to Head Championships!
