Premier Series Recap: Motus Ninjas

The qualifiers ended off on a high note at Motus!

The World Ninja League headed out to Motus Ninjas for the final qualifier of the 2024 Premier Series. Expectations for a thrilling event were high, and TJ Rehak and Donovan Metoyer delivered with two awesome courses, which were followed up by dozens of amazing runs by the athletes! Keep reading to see who earned the final qualifying spots for the Finals.

The Sweeps

There were 7 athletes who managed to take first place on both the Placement and Challenge Courses: Ivan Schmitt (Kids Male), Mackenzie Ambrose (Kids Female), Fiona Nix (Mature Kids Female), Max Fantasma (Preteen Male), Jackson Amaro (Teen Male), Hannah Amaro (Teen Female), and Ryan Cooper (Amateur Male). Of the 7, Fantasma and Cooper were the only ones to hit buzzers on both courses. This marks Cooper’s 2nd win of the Premier Series, previously winning at Austin Ninjas.

Schmitt, Ambrose, Nix, and Jackson Amaro all cleared the Placement Course. Fiona Nix took the top spot, while her twin sister Frances Nix was runner-up on both courses. The family affair continued in the Teen Division, as siblings Jackson and Hannah Amaro swept their respective divisions.

Crux Points Galore

While the Placement Course saw large amounts of success, the Challenge Course saw many crux points. Time ended up becoming the deciding factor for many divisions on who took home the win. This was the case for Brandon Wysowski (Mature Kids Male), Nina Vidovic (Preteen Female), Callie Johnson (Amateur Female), and Jeff Baumgarten (Elite Male).

Johnson pushed through the second obstacle of spinning peg holds to take the top spot in the Amateur Female division. Meanwhile, Baumgarten advanced to the 3rd to last obstacle faster than any other Elite Male to secure first place. In the Mature Kids Male division, Wysowski raced to the same obstacle ahead as Baumgarten to win his division. Vidovic cleared the Placement Course and finished 2nd in her division, but on the Challenge Course, pushed ahead to the 5th obstacle 7 seconds faster than her runner-up Maia Thames.

With Motus wrapped, the Premier Series will return one last time at Life Force Ninja for the Finals on November 15-17! You’re not going to want to miss the epic clash of titans, which can be streamed on the World Ninja League YouTube!
