Qualification Process

  • Regional Championship Entry:
    • Athletes must compete in a Head to Head Regional Championship.
    • Regions hosting Head to Head qualifiers before the designated date ranges are eligible to hold these championships.
  • Qualification Slots:
    • 16 athletes per division (age/gender) qualify during each date range. NOTE: Each Head to Head Regional Championship will receive a set number of qualifying spots per division (age/gender) based on the number of athletes from that division who have participated in the region compared to the number of athletes who have participated in the division throughout all regions. We do this to ensure that all athletes have an equitable opportunity to qualify.
    • Two date ranges are provided, resulting in ~32 athletes qualifying per division for Worlds.
    • If fractional results occur when calculating qualifying spots, the total is rounded up, potentially allowing more than 32 athletes to qualify.
  • Regional Spot Allocation:
    • Each region receives a portion of the 16 spots per division based on the participation rate of athletes from that region.
    • Formula for regional qualifying spots:
16 × (Regional Division Participation / Total Division Participation Across All Regions)
      • Example: If 250 athletes from the Northeast Elite Male division competed, and 1,000 competed nationwide:
        16 × (250 / 1,000) = 4 spots for that division in the Northeast.
    • Fractions are always rounded up when determining qualifying spots.

What is the scoring format?

  • Head to Head Championships are a Double Elimination Bracket
    • Competitions consist of multiple rounds, each with multiple matches.
    • Winners advance in the main bracket; losing athletes enter the comeback bracket.
      • In the event that neither athlete completes the course, the winner is the athlete who went the furthest the fastest.
    • Athletes are eliminated after losing two matches.
    • The last athlete remaining wins the championship.
  • Challenge Format
    • Scoring:
      • Athletes earn 1 point per obstacle cleared until they fail or are disqualified. (Check the rulebook for full details)
      • Progression requires successful completion of the current obstacle.
    • Time Limit and Continuation:
      • All courses have a time limit.
      • Athletes will not run out the clock when their run is over.
    • Retries:
      • Each athlete is allowed two retries per course, with only one retry per obstacle.
      • To continue, the athlete must complete the failed obstacle on the retry.
      • Retry procedure:
        • The timer will run while the obstacle is being reset.

To all competitors, this is your time to shine, push your limits, and leave it all on the course. Whether you’re chasing the title or simply enjoying the thrill of the competition, remember that every step forward is a victory.

Best of luck to each and every one of you—we can’t wait to see your incredible performances! Let’s make this an unforgettable championship.
