World Ninja League Head to Head Regionals Competition

THE SECOND EVENT

FEBRUARY 23 TO MARCH 2

The Ultimate Showdown Returns: Second Head to Head Regional Championship Announced!

The World Ninja League is thrilled to bring back the Head to Head Regional Championship for part two of this epic showdown! After the incredible success of our first event, we’re doubling the excitement and giving even more athletes the chance to battle it out in this intense, adrenaline-filled format.

Introducing a second Regional Championship opens the door for more athletes, offering a more inclusive pathway to compete. It helps address challenges like scheduling conflicts or the unpredictability of a single competition day—because let’s face it, everyone can have an off day. With two chances to qualify, athletes have more flexibility and opportunities to showcase their skills and secure their spot among the best.

In this fast-paced competition, athletes face off side-by-side on the same challenging course, racing to outpace their opponent in a high-stakes test of speed, skill, and strategy. The head to head format creates nail-biting action and unforgettable moments that keep everyone on the edge of their seats—from competitors to fans.

Athletes in each division will compete in the Regional Championship to advance to the Head to Head World Championships at Ninja Mania on March 16-17. There are only 16 total qualifying spots available per division across all Regional Championships. These 16 spots will be distributed across all Regional Championships based on regional participation. The exact breakdown of qualifying spots per division at each Regional Championship will be provided below soon.

Don’t miss your chance to be part of this groundbreaking ninja experience! Registration will be available in early February after all athletes are qualified.

HEAD TO HEAD

Two Opportunities to Win

This February and March, athletes will have a second chance to compete in the Head to Head Regional Championship! With a fresh slate of competitors, this event offers a new opportunity to showcase your skills and qualify for the Head to Head World Championships at Ninja Mania in March.

It’s important to note that qualifying for the first regional championship does not automatically guarantee a spot in this one, making each event a unique and crucial chance to prove your abilities and secure your place among the elite.

Don’t miss out on this thrilling competition—mark your calendars and get ready to race!

WHAT TO KNOW:

Side-by-Side Runs: Athletes race simultaneously on identical courses, adding an intense layer of competition.

Bracket System: Competitors are sorted into a giant March Madness-style bracket, moving up as they win each match.

Double Elimination: Athletes get a second chance with a comeback bracket, giving everyone the opportunity to fight their way back into contention.

Scoring: The athlete who advances the furthest in the bracket takes the win, with placements determined by performance in the bracket.

The Head to Head competition was born from the community’s enthusiasm for more intense and competitive formats. Test events showed incredible energy and engagement, proving this was a direction worth pursuing.

With our need to continuously innovate, combined with the new Olympic push for head to head ninja competitions, the World Ninja League saw an opportunity to grow the sport and prepare athletes for the global stage.

This format also provides a new competitive outlet for athletes who may not thrive in traditional circuits, but excel in the fast-paced, high-energy environment of direct matchups. It’s a space to develop new skills and showcase overall athleticism—speed, power, agility, and the mental toughness required to compete head to head.

The Head to Head Regional Competition offers athletes a chance to:

  • Test Their Skills: Compete against the best of the best in real-time on world-class courses. Athletes will be part of an exclusive group of competitors from each home region and division.
  • Experience a New Format: Enjoy a fast-paced, high-energy environment that’s as exciting as it is challenging.
  • Diversify Their Resume: Gain valuable experience in a unique competitive format that’s growing in popularity and prestige.
  • Qualify for Championships: Secure a spot in the exclusive Head to Head Championships. The top 16 athletes from each division and region where they compete will move on to the next level.

The top 32 athletes in the standings in each home region and division (age and gender) are eligible to compete.

Key qualification dates include:

  • Top 32 in home regions standings on February 3rd

The Head to Head Regional Competition aims to showcase the top athletes from each home region and division, giving them the opportunity to compete in an elevated format that highlights their athleticism and determination. This high-level competition serves as a stepping stone to the prestigious Head to Head Championships, where only the best of the best will face off. With 16 championship spots available, distributed proportionally based on regional participation, this event ensures fair representation while maintaining an elite level of competition. It’s not just a race for glory—it’s a chance to prove you belong among the most skilled and versatile ninjas in the sport.

This season, we combined select regions to create a more competitive event. In future seasons we will look to provide more localized access to Regional competitions by expanding the availability of regional competitions.
